“Iron Entrepreneur†in KrasnoyarskThe “Iron Entrepreneur†series of games has come to an end. The last of them was held in Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk.
8 teams competed in presenting their business-model projects. The technology they had to work with was the “aerogel” technology – a material with such properties as water absorbency, heat insulation, lightness and ability to expand or shrink several times. Teams of Krasnoyarsk took a very creative approach, which resulted in 8 unique business-models presented to the jury. The winner was the “Gis” team whose project was production of aerogel-based accumulators. The project stood out due to its elaborateness, attractiveness for investors, and also due to its lively presentation. The “Iron Entrepreneur of Microsoft” prize was awarder to “Proverim.com”. They presented their project “Temporary housing construction with aerogel-panels” which impressed the judges with its ease of use. The audience choice award was given to team “Argument” who presented their project of marketing of novel shoes for active lifestyle. All teams were awarded with valuable prizes – PC accessories, original T-shirts with “Iron Entrepreneur” print, and also business-books sets presented by Microsoft, a partner of “BIT Siberia”. The “Iron Entrepreneur” championship has become a kind of a try-out before the Final of “BIT Siberia”. The teams had a chance to feel what it’s like to be a project developer and to present an interesting idea to an investor. The “Iron Entrepreneur” series of games in Siberia have called together over 80 participants from Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Tomsk. All participants have demonstrated resourcefulness and originality in project development. However, teams in each city had their distinctive features. For example, almost all Novosibirsk teams presented the same idea to implement the given technology, which created intense competition and made presentation the critical factor for victory. On the contrary, in Krasnoyarsk there were no two similar projects, and the judges had to choose the winner with regard to both presentation and idea. Tomsk project were characterized by weak marketing, as noted by the judges, but were based on very diverse ideas of technology application. Peculiar to the Tomsk game was the number of girls among participants. The winner-team also was an all-girl team. |
